"Gown" es una de las voces inglesas para textil más productiva por sus numerosos usos.

Si lees "ball gown" se trata de un vestido/traje de fiesta de los de cancán de volantes o rizadito ("frilly petticoat").

"Gown" is one of the most used English words for textiles because it has many uses. If you read "ball gown", it’s an evening dress which has a frilly petticoat. A frilly petticoat, also called, a frilled petticoat, flounced petticoat or ruffled petticoat is a garment which has frills, flounces or ruffles on the petticoat.

"Bridal wedding gown" o simplemente "bridal gown (dress)" es un vestido/traje de boda nupcial o un vestido/traje nupcial, éste no especificaría que sea de vuelo "ball…", así que podría ser perfectamente también un vestido de corte sirena ("mermaid" es sirena), pero de boda. "Corte", vocablo español, sería "style". ¿Cómo diríamos entonces "vestido de boda de corte sirena"? ¡Facilísimo! Mermaid style wedding dress.

"Bridal wedding gown" or simply "bridal gown (dress)" is a women's wedding wear or attire. It isn’t specified the women's wedding wear is a very full garment, so it could also be a mermaid style dress ("mermaid" means siren), but it does specify is a women's dress for weddings. "Corte", Spanish word, would be "style". How do we then say "vestido de boda de corte sirena"? Really easy! Mermaid style wedding dress.

"See through" if it’s transparent, "tulle bateau neckline" is a ship shaped neckline. "Tul", Spanish word, is a type of lace or filet. The generic Anglo-Saxon word for lace (or even for “lace edging”) would be "lace". For example, "embroidery lace" would be embroidered lace. "Beaded lace" would be an embroidery lace with beads; beads are those accessories we can also find in neck bands, neck beads, neck chains, neck lockets, neck pearls, neck pendants, neck ropes, neck strands, neck strings or necklets "necklaces" and also in bangles, wrist bands, wrist chains, wrist circlets, wrist jewelry, wrist ornaments or wrist trinkets "bracelets". "Appliqued lace" is a lace with appliqué work, a special technique to decorate cloths ("material", "fabric" or "cloth" is cloth). Remember to put the partitive "a piece of" ("a remnant of") before uncountable nouns as "cloth" (fabric). And don’t confuse "cloth", which is fabric, with "clothes", which are garments.

Sé la más lista/ Be the smartest

"Custom made" es hecho de encargo, a la medida, especialmente para ti, mientras que "wholesale" implica todo lo contrario, al por mayor. Estos compuestos funcionarían como adjetivos antes de los sustantivos "dress", "gown" o "gown dress". Puedes ponerles guiones a los compuestos cuando los uses como adjetivos, pero no es necesario.

"Custom made" means customized, made to measure, especially for you, whereas "wholesale" implies the opposite, in bulk. These compounds would work as adjectives before the nouns "dress", "gown" or "gown dress". You can put hyphens between the words forming the compounds when using them as adjectives, but it’s not necessary.
